Abstract

Parker's film, 'Cage of Flame', is included in the Echoes from the Static programme of 6 films made by women film-makers that were broadcast on Channel 4. Visible Women on Channel 4 is curated by Nicole Atkinson and was screened from 16mm at Farr's, Dalston, London, on Thursday 8 May, followed by a post-screening discussion between Parker and Atkinson. Farr's, 17- 19 Dalston Lane, Dalston, London E8 3DF.

'Cage of Flame' is 'directed' by Parker's menstrual dreams and was commissioned by the Arts Council and Channel 4 through their Animate! Award scheme. The film featured in Channel 4's Secret Passions documentary programme, which included an interview with Parker and extracts from the film; Cage of Flame was then screened in its entirety in the Four-Mations slot after programme.
