Using assessment tools to help patients in pain.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Pain is a subjective experience; assessment tools allow some objective indication of the effectiveness of care. Assessment tools can be time-consuming to complete and are not a substitute for one-to-one communication and a thorough nursing assessment. Assessment tools increase the options available when pain is a serious problem.
