Abstract

<p>Silica encapsulated silver nanoparticle core–shell nanocomposites of tunable dimensions were synthesised <italic>via</italic> a one-pot reverse microemulsion route to achieve controlled release of Ag<sup>+</sup> ions for broad spectrum antibacterial application.</p>
