Thinking Space

Research output: Practice research and digital outputsExhibition

Abstract

Thinking Space (2015) is featured in the curated film programme mathēmatiká, Labocine’s April 2026 issue.
Commissioned by the London Mathematical Society for its 150th Anniversary, this 60‑minute documentary film follows nine world‑leading UK‑based mathematicians as they reflect on imagination, intuition, wonder, and the beauty of rigorous mathematical deduction.
Mathēmatiká dives into the shared territory between cinema and mathematics — patterns, geometry, abstraction, hidden systems — revealing how shapes become stories and how rhythm, sequence, and form shape what we see and feel.
Mathēmatiká also runs alongside the Symbiosis x Infinite Sums initiative with the Simons Foundation, bringing scientists and filmmakers together to explore mathematical ideas on screen.
