The use of the annual agricultural census returns to measure change in the area of woodland

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Inconsistencies are investigated between the woodland statistics published in the Parish Summary Returns of the annual Agricultural Census and the areas of woodland calculated from 1:10 000 Ordnance Survey maps for parishes in the Peak District National Park. Consideration is also given to the response that the census question receives from occupiers of agricultural holdings. -Author
