Abstract
The preliminary case study, which is undertaken in an ecological housing de-velopment in the UK, forms part of a doctoral research project on the monitoring and assessment of energy and indoor environment of the UK’s domestic build-ings. The unique features of the monitoring system in this case study are discussed in the first half the paper, followed by the data presentations reflecting the early stage of the work. The research is a dynamic process related to the development of the monitoring system and the associated analysis methods. Future work will be required on the basis of the current progress to investigate the possibilities of maintaining the residents’ comfort conditions while minimising their energy use
