Abstract
Actions, reactions, conditions, and restrictions form the basis of any game. The rules
designed to conduct participation and behaviours of players and objects can be
understood as a particular language. In an attempt to elucidate an expressive potential that may have been underestimated by game developers and researchers, this paper presents an approximation of game rules to linguistic concepts.
