Abstract

<jats:p> Allied health professionals do not routinely use research findings in their work. This first of this two-part article will define research utilization, place it in the context of the modernization agenda, and review literature on the barriers to research utilization. The second will focus on journal clubs, which could be used to overcome these barriers, thus increasing the routine use of research findings. </jats:p>
