Abstract

Preliminary loading was performed under two conditions: stress relaxation and creep. Loading was either static or asymmetrical cyclic. Study of the energy dissipation under symmetric tension-compression loading with a fixed stress amplitude and room temperature was realized by means of the thermal method. The main factor determining energy dissipation under the said conditions was revealed to be the value of one-side accumulated plastic deformation. The analyzed conditions of preliminary loading do not exert a significant effect on the energy dissipation. Energy dissipation was found to depend on the value of preliminary accumulated plastic strain deformation for a case when the latter dies not exceed 1%.
