Abstract
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published a report highlighting the problems of water scarcity, water stress in certain parts of northern Europe where the climate change will increase the severity and frequency of natural calamities. The compilation emphasized key findings and recommendations including agriculture, implementation of drought management plans, and avoidance of water-intensive bio-energy crops in areas of water scarcity. The Italian authorities to comply with the Wild Birds and Habitats Directives with regard to the construction dams so as to access the impact of the project on necessary mitigation and compensation mechanism. They are also committed to implement a series of measures including suspension of certain construction works, monitoring of works, and designation of additional areas in the lagoon. The Commission regarded measures as balanced means of ensuring the protection while maintaining the ecological importance of the lagoon and to build an urban wastewater collection system in the area.
