Abstract

This study delves into the complex sloshing dynamics in a circular tank, a critical challenge for applications like aerospace and marine systems, as part of the CCP-WSI Blind Test Series 5. Leveraging the GPU-accelerated SPH-based DualSPHysics code, we uncover unique resonant and nonlinear wave behaviours under horizontal and vertical excitations. Key findings include significant free-surface amplifications and symmetry-breaking effects at resonance. Sensitivity analysis of dimensionality, viscosity, and resolution highlighted SPH's adaptability for highly nonlinear flows, establishing it as a powerful tool for tackling intricate fluid-structure interactions.
