Abstract

The Punto y Raya Festival 2023 featured Parker and Moore's 16mm direct animation film, Purling (2021); screened in programme #6 at Cinema Fernando Lopes in glorious 4K resolution. 14 October 23, 7pm.

The Punto y Raya Festival is the world event for Abstract Art in Motion, bringing together the PyR community in various cities. The Festival celebrates the latest achievements in abstract film, animation and new media, and recovers & contextualises great classics, providing a creative meeting point between artists and general audiences.

The eighth edition of "The Most Abstract Festival in the World" arrives in Lisbon, Portugal! This feast of pure form, colour, motion and sound will be held October 11th-15th 2023 at Cinemateca Portuguesa, Cinema Fernando Lopes, Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon Museum, FBA-UL, U Lisboa - Caléidoscopio, and ESML Music School of Lisbon.

PyR Festival 2023 is a coproduction of MAD (ES, creators of PyR Festival) and Taumotropio Lda. (PT, creators of MONSTRA Intl. Animation Festival of Lisbon), with kind support from the European Commission, OSIC Programme - Generalitat de Catalunya, and Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual.
