Abstract
This paper seeks to showcase two different approaches that can be undertaken in facilitating and developing the publication of undergraduate research and student activities, albeit both examples utilising a flexible e-journal format. Five years ago the Faculty of Science and Technology and School of Law independently created respective online journals to support their student work and enhance research-informed teaching. In comparing their production and management, while common synergies are evident in terms of some of the aims and approaches adopted, there were also apparent distinguishing features and practices. Editors from both initiatives share their experience of setting up, producing and managing a student focussed publication, comment on the various and necessary levels of staff engagement and consider the relative success that these initiatives have generated and received and how it can be maintained.
