Abstract
An assessment of the effectiveness of the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) advice to local planning authorities regarding the risks associated with hazardous installations as defined by the 1982 Regulations. It was found that the consultation part of the system is moving towards effectiveness, but that the HSE is only occasionally successful in persuading local planning authorities to adopt specific policies about such risks in local plans.-A.Gilg
