Observations on a therapeutic residential setting for autistic children.

Abstract

A therapeutic milieu for children labelled with a diagnosis of early infantile autism is described. This study, in a residential setting near Washington DC, USA, discusses the various procedures adopted for alleviating the problems encountered with these children, such as the formation of social relationships, language formation, and compulsive behaviour.
