Abstract
Biomedicine represents an important and very fertile area both for application of conventional digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and the development of new and robust DSP algorithms. Some of the key aspects of medical signal processing are presented. A number of novel, real world medical applications of DSP are described. Examples are drawn from a number of areas of medicine and healthcare, including neurophysiology and obstetrics.
