Lakes record climatic change.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Fluctuations in the level of a non-outlet lake indicate changes in the moisture regime of its catchment area. Clues to the age of a former lake may be gained from wavecut terraces and beaches if they contain material suitable for carbon dating. Analysing the chemistry of lake water may also indicate age because of the concentration of salts. -E.Turner
