Abstract
The FE method has been recognized as a powerful tool to predict the fire resistance of structures. Among the lots of commercial codes, Femlab shows to have great advantages in solving this kind of problems because of its capability in analyzing problems of coupled physical fields. When used in analyzing fire resistance of composite structures, it can calculate the temperature distribution of different materials under fire loading conveniently, input complicated material stress-strain constitution relationships freely, consider interaction between different materials and arbitrary boundary conditions.
