Abstract

© Research India Publications. In recent times industries are switching to materials light in weight and more in strength, which is eventually been satisfied by composite materials. Many of the applications look for aesthetic finish of the product. Gel coat is used for it, at the cost of emitting Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). This ends up in environmental pollution with hazardous work place. Hence forth it is suggested to gel coat the composite structures in a similar fashion to the composite structure manufactured through close mould resin injection processes. One such novel technique is experimented and discussed in this paper.
