Abstract
When we approach Viola’s work, do we expect to be changed or to experience something profound? Linda Ward considers Viola’s concern with temporality and religious metaphors in the works Catherine’s Room (2001) Four Hands (2001) and Surrender (2001). Ward is an artist filmmaker and Lecturer of Filmmaking at the University of Plymouth. With screening of Ward's ten minute digital moving image work, Blue Black Impermanent (work in progress) with music by Ben Payne, at RAMM, Exeter.
