Abstract
The Cremyll Commuters sound piece made by Inés Rae, Lecturer in Creative Media, and Laura Denning, AL in Creative Media, will be experienced at Connecting Commutes as part of Braga25 Portuguese Capital of Culture programme throughout March- November 2025. This 8 minute sound piece tells the stories of the 8 minute crossing between Cremyll in Cornwall to Plymouth, Devon. Many people use this ferry to commute to and from work, and these are their stories.
Connecting Commutes is an artistic project that regards listening as a sensory practice that promotes reflection and experimentation.
The project is based on the concepts of mobility, territory, heritage, landscape, public space and community, opening up avenues of creation in the field of sound and also in the thinking associated with this theme.
