Abstract
Eight elementary cognitive tasks were selected because of their potential application to the study of flexible thinking. The intercorrelations between these tasks were computed to investigate whether individual differences in performance could be found. These correlations are discussed in terms of the cognitive processes underlying the tasks, and it is concluded that seven of the eight tasks hold promise for future evaluation.
