Abstract
An overview is given on the various examples of models of fluid permeation in porous coatings and paper. The models are discussed in terms of the complexity of the void space, and the applicability and reality of the model. The ultimate goal is to achieve a computer model that is so close to reality that it has a powerful role in explaining liquid permeation in current systems, and predicting fluid permeation characteristics in specially engineered systems.
