Abstract

Civil engineers are increasingly dependent on sophisticated computer models for their design analysis. Alistair Borthwick, John Carpenter, Barry Clarke, Roger Falconer and Jon Wicks summarise a recent Institution of Civil Engineers event on the topic, which warned of the growing risk of over-reliance on model outputs.
