Abstract

This chapter outlines evidence about the hypothesised cognitive and behavioural processes contributing to mental health problems in sexual minority adults. Research about treatment outcomes for sexual minorities in routine healthcare is summarised, followed by evidence from studies adapting cognitive behavioural interventions for sexual minority adults. The final section discusses examples of how cognitive behaviour therapy may be adapted to meet the needs of sexual minority adults.
