Abstract
In this talk we analyse possible descriptions of the gluonic cloud around quarks both analytically and on a lattice. This includes clarifying the role of Gribov copies in confinement and the construction of a class of such copies. In the perturbative sector we review the infra-red problem and difficulties with the Lee Nauenberg theorem.
