Celebrating Dietetic Evidence Informing Practice: The Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and the Manual of Dietetic Practice

When one reflects on the practice and discipline of dietetics, it is evident that the profession has achieved much, both in the UK and globally. As a profession, there is therefore much to be proud of. One key milestone in the UK this year is the publication of the 7th edition of the Manual of Dietetic Practice, the authoritative textbook for dietitians endorsed by the British Dietetic Association (BDA). As editors and dietitians, we are incredibly excited about this achievement—not only because it represents a substantial body of work or because of its contribution to future generations of dietitians, but also because it showcases the remarkable research base that informs contemporary dietetic practice.

That this publication coincides with the BDA celebrating 90 years of supporting the dietetic profession, in a year when Wiley continues to publish the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics on its behalf, is something that deserves recognition and celebration across the profession.
