Abstract

Can I Be Me? is a ten-minute poetic documentary film which was produced by young women (aged 14-16) from the City of Plymouth in Partnership with Imperfect Cinema.

The film responds to key themes in Jill Craigie's 1946 feature Film 'The Way We Live' and in particular the role that the reflections, hopes, dreams and aspirations of young women have in the reimagining of a future City of Plymouth.

Produced for The Way We Live project and screened at the Jill Craigie Cinema, Plymouth, UK. In partnership with Professor Lizzie Thynne (University of Sussex) and funded by the AHRC (Plymouth, UK).
