Abstract
Remaster for screening in the 360˚ immersive dome, Market Hall, Devonport, of 35mm direct animation film, 'Flow', created by Parker and Moore and an output from their ongoing research in the River Plym and estuary, to the east of the port city of Plymouth on the SW coast of Britain.
A test screening of 'Cadence 360' was part of public engagement activities titled 'Kayaking and Creativity' for the UK's Being Human Festival of humanities research, held 12 Nov 23, in the 21-metre immersive dome, Market Hall, Devonport. The film was presented to an audience of over 70 people, with event booking via Real Ideas; the screening was sold out and half the audience watched the film twice, along with another remastered 35mm direct animation film, ‘Flow 360' and 'Flow + Cadence’, the 360˚ live-action film shot from kayaks on the river.
The screening was to test audience response to the work in an immersive environment and inform development of the project, including further film-making research in the River Plym and estuary (under the title of 'The Leery') and publication.
360 degree film with original sound design, 3 minutes. The copy of ‘Cadence 360' film deposited in Pearl is a mirrored spherical version of the 360˚ film: a 1:1 single screen render of the film that is non-navigable and dated 14th April 2024.
'Cadence 360' is embargoed for 3 years to enable the film to be eligible for film festivals, exhibitions and screening events.
