Abstract
<jats:p>Investigates the current literature surrounding business process
re‐engineering (BPR). Defines BPR and distinguishes between
re‐engineering and other change programmes. Sets out a general approach
to BPR and outlines the results from the application of this approach to
the bank. This analysis of results includes an assessment of the
applicability of the ICAM definition method, IDEF<jats:sub>0</jats:sub>, in helping companies
implement BPR programmes.</jats:p>
