For musicians, professionals and amateurs, performing music can have a central role in their life. While it can determine their social, professional and cultural life, it also determines their identity. Playing an instrument can connect you to people with similar knowledge and experiences, and, most importantly, passion. Losing the ability to play one’s instrument can therefore be devastating to an individual, as they lose a part of themselves.
