Abstract
A model of localised appendix abscess is described in the rabbit. This has been validated in six animals, and used in twenty seven to investigate a drug targeting technique. The peri-operative mortality (7.4%) is low. We believe that this model is of potential use to investigators who require a localised abdominal abscess.
