Overview
The EPIC project is working to grow demand for, and supply of new, innovative eHealth and social care products and services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Project Aims
The EPIC project seeks to develop market opportunities for digital health initiatives that offer solutions to identified health and social care issues in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It also seeks to shift culture and behaviour (among the health and social care sectors and local population base respectively) towards routine adoption of eHealth & social care solutions.1 The project is in receipt of £2.7m2 of European Funding over three years (March 2017 – April 2020) under European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Priority Axis 1: Promoting Research & Innovation, and Investment Priority 1b: Promoting Business Investment Research & Innovation. The EPIC project contributes to the following specific ERDF objectives:
Objective 1.2: Increase investment in research and innovation by small and medium sized enterprises in sectors and technologies identified through smart specialisation (eHealth & social care & wellbeing); and
Objective 1.3: Increase the number of small and medium sized enterprises, engaged in knowledge exchange, collaborative and contract research and innovation with research institutions, public institutions or large enterprises, to help them bring new products and processes to market.
