Dr Lin is an accomplished dental professional with a passion for education and patient care. His impressive qualifications and diverse background have shaped him into a well-rounded and highly skilled dentist.
Dr Lin holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree, which he obtained from Cardiff University in 2018. He has since pursued a multitude of qualifications and certifications to enhance his knowledge and expertise in the field. His career journey began as a Dental Foundation Trainee with the Central Wales Scheme from 2018 to 2019. During this time, he gained valuable experience in providing comprehensive dental care to patients.
Seeking further professional growth, Dr Lin pursued Dental Core Training in various specialties. From 2019 to 2020, he served as a Dental Core Trainee 1 in Special Care Dentistry at Gosport War Memorial Hospital, Gosport. This role allowed him to develop specialized skills in treating patients with complex medical conditions. His dedication to patient care and education led him to pursue higher qualifications. He completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education from the University of Dundee from 2020 to 2021. This qualification honed his teaching skills and prepared him for his future endeavours in dental education.
Continuing his professional development, Dr Lin engaged in Dental Core Training 2 and 3 in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth from 2020 to 2022. During this period, he gained extensive knowledge and experience in surgical procedures and patient management. In recognition of his exemplary work, he has received several awards and accolades. In 2022, he was awarded the National Teaching Prize at Medic Mentor's Virtual Mock Interview Day, showcasing his outstanding teaching abilities. In 2021, he delivered the Best Trainee Presentation at HEE South West DCT Presentation Study Day 2021, demonstrating his excellent communication and presentation skills. Additionally, he was a Poster Prize finalist at the British Society for Disability and Oral Health Spring Conference in 2020.
Dr Lin is an active member of various professional bodies, including the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MDTFEd), Advance HE (FHEA), the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS (Glasg)), the British Orthodontic Society, and the British Dental Association. His commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry is reflected in his active engagement with these organizations. Furthermore, he has taken on leadership roles in the dental community. From 2021 to 2022, he served as the DCT Chair for the South West DCT Representative Group, under the auspices of Health Education England. In this position, he contributed to shaping and improving dental training programs in the region.
Dr Lin's dedication to dental education, patient care, and professional development make him a highly respected and valuable member of the dental community. His expertise, coupled with his passion for teaching, ensures that he delivers the highest standard of care to his patients while inspiring and educating future generations of dental professionals.
