Overview
Profile summary
Dr. Vivek Singh is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, University of Plymouth. He teaches AI modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, guiding students through the complexities and evolving challenges of the field.
His research focuses on data-efficient, resource-efficient, and multi-modal learning for AI applications. He is particularly interested in developing learning frameworks capable of generalizing from limited labeled data and operating effectively under constrained computational resources. His goal is to enable scalable, robust AI systems for real-world use cases such as medical imaging, visual scene understanding, and video analysis.
Prior to joining the University of Plymouth, Dr. Singh accumulated significant industry experience, holding roles from AI Researcher to Senior Research Engineer. He worked on a range of technologies, including machine vision, image processing, and artificial intelligence. He also served as a Research Fellow at the Visual Artificial Intelligence Lab at Oxford Brookes University, following the completion of his PhD in Computer Vision. His doctoral research focused on human facial expression analysis and the optimization of deep learning architectures.
