Profile summary

Vivek is a Research Fellow in Offshore Renewable Energy Hydrodynamics within the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at the University of Plymouth. He works on the AEON - Development of the next-generation floating hybrid energy platform for island communities project. His research investigates the viability of coupling solar panels along with wave energy converter systems.

Vivek has a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from University College London (UCL). Whilst at UCL, he developed an interest in surface gravity waves and wave-structure interaction (WSI) problems. Nurturing these interests, he started on his PhD at the IITB-Monash Research Academy. His doctoral dissertation, titled 'Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Thin Porous Barriers', was supervised by Prof. Balaji Ramakrishnan from IIT Bombay and Prof. Murray Rudman from Monash University, and was completed in 2021.
