Overview

Profile summary

I am a Research Fellow in Materials Science and Senior Technician at the University of Plymouth, working within the radionuclide analytical facility. My work bridges advanced materials research and technical support, contributing to both cutting-edge investigations and the operational excellence of analytical laboratories.

My research focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterisation of hierarchically structured materials with applications in catalysis, environmental remediation, and sustainable technologies. I have extensive experience developing functional materials for the conversion of biomass and waste into biofuels (SAF, biodiesel, bio-oil, biogas), platform chemicals, and value-added products, gained through research positions in the UK and Brazil.

I have contributed to multidisciplinary projects involving gas recovery systems, surface functionalisation of absorptive materials, and biobased energy solutions, aligned with circular economy principles, alongside radionuclide analysis for environmental remediation. In addition to research, I have delivered technical and teaching support across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including instruction in advanced analytical techniques such as X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffractometry, Gamma Spectroscopy and Gas Chromatography.
