    Overview

    Profile summary

I am a lecturer on the Advanced Professional Practice (Clinical Practitioner) and Advanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeship programs within the Faculty of Health, operating under purview of the School of Nursing and Midwifery. I support the wider Advanced Practice team with the delivery of several modules in addition to being an Educational Supervisor for the NHSE (previously HEE) on their Advanced Practice e-portfolio route to accreditation.
I am passionate about the development of Advanced clinical Practitioners within the dynamic landscape of the NHS workforce. I firmly believe that the role of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner should be highly regarded, for it substantively enriches the provision of healthcare, introducing a plethora of diverse competencies and professional acumen that complements the expertise of medical teams. I aim to equip experienced clinicians with advanced consultation skills, decision making skills and diagnostic skills to help facilitate professional progression within Advanced Practice.
I am a nurse by background, and I am still actively working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within the Primary Care sector. I believe this helps to maintain a patient-centred perspective and allows me to perpetually refine my clinical adeptness. This unique duality further equips me with an understanding of the intricacies and demands of our students' high-pressure clinical milieu, helping to bridge theoretical education with real-world practice.
