    Research Interests

    • I am an interdisciplinary researcher, with a longstanding focus on socio-economic disparities of UK coastal communities. This includes economic performance and productivity, regeneration, economic linkages between the towns and their hinterlands, the nature and extent of multiple deprivation and social exclusion, in-migration, and sense of community, and on aspects of health and quality of life. I have a strong track record of producing research of societal impact, and, through my role of Co-Director of the Centre of Coastal Communities, I am very experienced in high government level policy engagement.
