Dr Rupert Jones

    Rupert Jones is an Honorary Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health and his current post is Prof of Health Research at Plymouth Marjon University 

    A retired GP and respiratory specialist, he is involved in national and international research, policy and education initiatives relating to chronic lung diseases and dementia. His current research interests are in global health related to COPD, severe asthma, pulmonary rehabilitation, and digital health education. He is particularly interested in the collaboration between arts and medicine including work involving illustration, dance and music in UK and global settings. 

    Working with many international collaborators, he has run global health projects included Horizon 2020 and MRC / Wellcome and DFID relating to lung disease in many countries in Europe, Africa, Central and South East Asia. He developed the Lung Information Needs Questionnaire and the DOSE Index for COPD severity assessment, and the Severe Asthma Questionnaire (saq.org.uk). He has published over 120 papers and several books.
