    Profile summary

    Ricky is Programme Leader for BA (hons) Architecture.

    A former student at the University of Plymouth, Ricky is a registered architect and former BIM consultant. Ricky teaches in Architecture, Built Environment, Engineering, and Design courses in both undergraduate and taught post-graduate courses. Ricky's teaching is based both the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. Ricky brings specialisms in socially and inhabitationally focussed design, as well as Information management and advancing media explorations to the construction and delivery of teaching at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Ricky is the Architecture Communications stream leader and Undergraduate Year 2 leader. 

    Ricky's primary research interests include investigation into the role of the built environment in personal and social fulfilment; inclusive design practice with vulnerable participants; and the use of advancing media in muti-modal architectural design.

    Teaching interests

    Ricky began teaching at the University of Plymouth in 2011, and after a short break, has been a consistent member of the Architecture teaching team since 2013. Ricky teaches across all stages of the Architecture undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as in other courses in the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, and design disciplines. Ricky is the BA Architecture Year 2 lead and Architecture area Communications stream leader. Ricky currently leads the following courses: DSCM511, ARCH656, ARCH773

    Ricky takes a research-driven approach to teaching, incorporating designerly research practices and advancing media to emphasise the role of communications and technology in architectural practice.
