    Profile summary

    Background
I registered as a children’s nurse in 2006 after graduating from the University of Plymouth. My first post was working in respite care with children with complex need in the community. This was predominantly supporting children requiring non-invasive ventilation. In 2007, I secured a post working in acute children's nursing on a children ward for children aged from birth to 16 years of age. Between 2008-2011 I worked within the children’s high dependency unit alongside children with critical care needs. Following this post, I progressed into the role of clinical educator for children's nursing. Alongside my clinical role, I worked as an associate lecturer for the University of Plymouth. I joined the University of Plymouth as a Lecturer in Child Health Nursing in 2012. I was promoted to Associate Professor in Child Health Nursing in 2023.
