Profile summary

Mandy is a Lecturer in Tourism, Hospitality and Events Managaement, with over 20 years of experience teaching at the University of Plymouth, including 12 years delivering modules in Hong Kong.  She delivers a range of modules, with specialist interests in digitalisation and the visitor experience, tourism foundations, global trends, issues and impacts, business environments, experience marketing and management, and service quality.

Her academic interests lie particularly in the visitor economy, regenerative tourism, and experience management.  Mandy holds a BSc (Hons) in Hospitality Management, and an MSc in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Plymouth, where she also completed her PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and Training.

Beyond her teaching responsibilites, Mandy has held a number of leadership roles, including Academic Placement and Employabiltiy Manager for Tourism, Hospitality and Events; Programme Lead for Undergraduate Hospitality Programmes, and Co-Director of the University of Plymouth Hotel School.  In this latter role, she worked closely with industry partners to enhance student learning and professional development.  She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Travel and Tourism (F.Inst.TT), reflecting her ongoing commitment to the advancement of the sector.
