    Overview

    Profile summary

I am an experienced research professional with over 28 years in higher education, including more than 17 years within academic research teams. I currently work in a dual Research Manager role across the Mental Health Research Group (MHRG) and the Community and Primary Care Research Centre (CPCRC), contributing to a diverse portfolio of research projects.

Within this remit, I sit on the CPCRC Senior Leadership Team and the MHRG Management Team, supporting strategic planning, research development, and operational delivery across both.

My expertise spans complex project management, research governance, and end-to-end research delivery, with a particular specialism in Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). I have led and supported the development of PPI strategies, including public recruitment, engagement, and the production of accessible research materials.

I bring extensive experience in drafting governance documentation, contributing to funding bids, and coordinating large-scale research proposals. My background also includes financial reporting, research contracting, and cross-disciplinary project coordination, ensuring compliance with regulatory and funder requirements.

Alongside my operational expertise, I have strong applied research skills, particularly in qualitative and mixed methods research. I have designed and delivered focus groups, patient involvement forums, and interviews, as well as undertaken transcription, anonymisation, coding, and analysis. I also contribute to research framework development, dissemination, and service mapping.

I am particularly interested in strengthening meaningful public involvement in research and advancing mixed methods approaches to improve research impact and accessibility.
