Profile summary
Katie has a background in exercise and health after completing both a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) and a Master of Research (MRes). During completion of her MRes programme, Katie was involved in a clinical trial assessing the effects of exercise prior to surgery for patients with cancer. Katie's research projects involved a mixed method evaluation of the effects of prehabilitation for patients with cancer, including patient and stakeholder perspectives. Following completion of her Masters programme, Katie worked in health improvement with a range of different health conditions, this involved trying to improve patient's health conditions using exercise, nutrition, sleep, and mental health management. Prior to appointment at the University of Plymouth, Katie moved to Leicester to work within University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trust in anesthetics to improve patients fitness and wellbeing in preparation for surgery.
