Overview

Profile summary

I am a Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. My broad research focus is exploring digital mediation of everyday life. I also have research interests in youth mental health and have worked on a range of interdisciplinary research projects.

I’m particularly interested in understanding how technologically mediated societies shape emotional experience, mental health and care. My PhD in Human Geography at the University of Birmingham critically examined the logics and practices of digital mental health and young people’s (non)therapeutic experiences of using smartphone apps and platforms to support their mental health and wellbeing. I engage with geographies of emotion and affect alongside philosophies of technology and cultural economy.

I currently work on an ESRC-funded project that examines geographies of engagement with live-streams of extreme weather events.
