    Year One Coordinator & Lecturer
    Jamin plays a central role in managing the first-year program and leads various modules in both the first and second years. Additionally, he provides support in the third year. His responsibilities encompass planning, delivering, and assessing programs within the School of Art, Design, and Architecture, focusing primarily on BA (Hons) Graphic Design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

     

    Teaching interests

    In addition to his busy design practice, Jamin has always been passionate about teaching and engaging with others, whether in design, international volunteer projects, or coaching.

    He has an extensive education background including developing and teaching the first national BA program in Visual Communication in the Sultanate of Oman and collaborating to help pioneer several social enterprise initiatives within schools in the South West.

    As an educator, Jamin focuses on developing students through concept-driven work with a focus on strong typography and craft. Jamin promotes a playful and experimental approach to design to encourage exceptional creativity as the students build their foundations for successful careers and lives.

    Jamin, a New Zealand-born designer, art director, and educator, brings a wealth of international experience collaborating with talented creative teams worldwide.

    In addition to his role at the University of Plymouth, Jamin excels as a versatile and award-winning designer and creative director. He works globally, encompassing everything from small art projects to major brand identities, experimental typography and progressive editorial work. His client roster includes clients such as Bentley Motors, Harley Davidson,  Carve Surf Magazine, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

    More recently he has been honored with 'The British Sports Book of the Year ' award (Best Illustrated) and a coveted DBA Gold Award.

    Jamin is fueled by strong coffee, inspired by eclectic music, and driven by a profound passion for his craft and creativity.
