    Cartographer with GeoMapping in the GeoHub (708 Davy).https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/schools/school-of-geography-earth-and-environmental-sciences/geomapping-unit
    My main role is to produce maps and diagrams for academic staff in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. Commonly these are for publications in books, papers and journals, but also for student fieldtrip handouts and other teaching materials. I am the University's Digimap Rep, I produce most of the University's campus maps and I teach basic mapping skills to Geographers (see Teaching section, below). I help out on fieldwork as and when required, and manage the school's fleet of Fieldtrip laptops.

    Professional memberships

    From 2000 to 2020; Member of the Society of Cartographers; Treasurer and Bulletin Subscriptions Manager between 2010 and it's closure in 2020.

    Teaching interests

    I teach mapping skills and cartographic design using Digimap and Adobe Illustrator software to first year Geographers (GGH1202/GGP1208). I support Shaun Lewin's QGIS teaching to Environmental Science undergraduates and MSc Planning postgraduates. In addition to my cartographic input, I have helped out on various Geography and Environmental Science fieldtrips. In recent years, residential trips have been to Western Australia, Brittany, Belize, the Pacific North West of the USA, as a driver, photographer, IT technician and a general helper.
