Profile summary

Jack Morewood is a Visiting Specialist at the university and first began working at the university in 2020. Most recently, Jack was employed as a Business Research Fellow on the Good Growth Entrepreneurial Futures project, and his research centres on investigating building energy performance using data-driven methods, including monitoring and simulation. This formed part of the Good Growth Entrepreneurial Futures Project, which was funded through the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly (IoS) Good Growth Fund. As part of the project, Jack built upon existing research and working with businesses in Cornwall to deliver research and development-led growth. Jack continues to work closely with the Environmental Building Group and Net Zero Exchange
Jack has lived in Devon since an early age, earning a BSc Mathematics with Economics degree from Exeter and MSc High Performance Buildings degree from Plymouth. Between graduating and returning to the university in April 2024, Jack worked in number of academic and industrial research posts. Most recently, Jack worked as a Research Assistant at the Welsh School of Architecture, where he is completing his PhD on a part-time basis alongside his role at Plymouth.
Jack is an Incorporated Engineer and serves on the South West regional committee of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). Jack recently gained his first lecturing qualification, as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
