    Helen Bowstead has been a lecturer at the University of Plymouth since 2008. As a member of the English Language Centre, she managed its in-sessional provision, which included credit-rated modules, subject specific language support, academic English workshops, and online courses and resources. As part of the Learning Development team, she established the unique and highly successful Writing Cafe and she also set up the Hello Project, which supports international students' transition into university life. In August 2025, Helen joined the Centre for Teaching Enhancement and Innovation as an Academic Developer.
